The Air Discount Scheme (ADS) tackles the problem of high air fares for the remotest communities in 
the Highlands and Islands by providing a discount of 40% on the core air fare on eligible routes.  

The Air Discount Scheme is available to all “eligible persons” whose main residence is in one of the 
following defined eligible areas:
    * Western Isles
    * Orkney Isles
    * Shetland Isles
    * Islay and Jura
    * Caithness
    * North-West Sutherland

There are restrictions re onward flights, already financed flights etc.
People eligible for membership of the Scheme  fill in an application form available from airports and other

The airlines participating in the Scheme are those currently operating scheduled air services between the 
defined areas and Inverness, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, and between points in the defined areas.
